Parents should not promote censorship to their children but impress upon them the importance of sticking to subject matter that is suitable for their age. If children grow up in a censored world, they will be denied the opportunity to grow and experience the other stories that books and films have, which could potentially lead to ignorance, since many of these books and films deal with important historical events and tragedies. Furthermore, a child that is exposed to so much censorship at such a young age w ill be given a false idea of what is right and what is wrong, or inappropriate.
